The next meeting of the "Inclusive Social Development and Social Security" Working Group was held
The latest meeting of the Working Group on “Inclusive Social Development and Social Security” was convened in connection with the implementation of the targets outlined in the “Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022–2026.” The meeting focused on discussing the monitoring and evaluation report on the progress made in 2024 towards achieving the objectives of “Ensuring that Every Citizen Benefits from Development” and “Establishing a High and Fair Social Security System and an Inclusive Society” set out in the Strategy.
Anar Aliyev, the Chairman of the Working Group, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, emphasized that significant steps have been taken to enhance the wage system, expand social protection, and promote active employment programs as part of the ongoing social reforms.
The discussions covered efforts aimed at increasing employment opportunities for vulnerable groups, aligning labor market supply with demand, and developing a competitive human resources framework.
Ramil Huseyn, Deputy Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), highlighted the importance of monitoring and evaluating the measures implemented to achieve the social objectives set in the Strategy. He underscored that these assessments are crucial for identifying key challenges in the implementation process and formulating relevant policy recommendations.
Elnur Alakbarov, Deputy Chairman of the Working Group and Deputy Head of the Economic Analysis Department at CAERC, presented the initial monitoring and evaluation findings on three key areas of activity: “Improving the Labor System,” “Stimulating Employment Growth in the Private Sector,” and “Enhancing Employment Efficiency.” The main challenges and recommendations identified through the evaluation process were discussed in detail.
Members of the Working Group engaged in discussions and put forward proposals regarding the progress made.
The Working Group on "Inclusive Social Development and Social Security" comprises representatives from the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CERACC), the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Science and Education, the Ministry of Health, the State Agency for Citizen Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the "ABAD" public legal entity, the Central Bank, the State Committee for Family, Women, and Children's Issues, the State Migration Service, and the Youth Fund.
