
Vusal Gasimli spoke at the 6th general meeting of the TUIB
Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication, Doctor of Economics, Professor Vusal Gasimli delivered an opening speech at the 6th traditional meeting of the “Public Union of Turkish-Azerbaijani Businessmen and Industrialists” (TUIB).
Main theses of the speech:
- The Organization of Turkic States covers 2.8 percent of the world's population and 1.8 percent of the world economy and has a great potential for economic development;
- The Organization of Turkic States is among the top ten in the world in terms of the size of its economy;
- Azerbaijan has invested more than 20 billion US dollars in Turkey, and Turkey has invested 17 billion US dollars in Azerbaijan;
- The joint economy of Azerbaijan and Turkey is 1.2 trillion US dollars, with a population of nearly 100 million people;
- Azerbaijan and Turkey have vast potential to further promote trade and investment;
- Azerbaijan and Turkey should strengthen their cooperation in the fields of energy and intelligence, which are the main paradigms of the next decade.
