Non-Residents to Receive Electronic Signatures at Second Digital Trade Hub International Conference

The Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), in partnership with ISESCO, will host the second international conference on the Digital Trade Hub of Azerbaijan in Baku on October 31. For the first time, non-residents will be able to obtain electronic signatures during the event. Preparations and negotiations with international participants have already been completed.

One of the key speakers, Jon Schamah, Chair of the European Association for Electronic Identification and Security, emphasized that his organization is closely linked with Azerbaijan’s Digital Trade Hub. He noted that a preliminary project is ready for implementation: “The European Union represents 28 member states, 23 million SMEs, and a consumer market of 400 million. The EU applies the eIDAS trust services framework to ensure secure operations in a unified digital market. While eIDAS applies only to EU member states, the Horizon 2020 project FutureTrust helps bridge gaps between eIDAS and non-EU trust schemes. FutureTrust considers Azerbaijan’s Digital Trade Hub a suitable platform for establishing global interoperability among eIDAS and other trust frameworks.”

The conference will host nearly 200 participants from over 20 countries, including the USA, Thailand, UK, Estonia, Turkey, Morocco, among others. Representatives from international trade platforms collaborating with Azexport, such as Alibaba, Amazon, and eBay, will also attend. Discussions will focus on borderless digital trade platforms, cross-border economic relations, electronic services, and the development of new business opportunities.
