"Inclusive social development and social security" Working group meeting was held

A meeting of the Working Group on "Inclusive Social Development and Social Security" was held in connection with the implementation of the goals outlined in the "Socio-economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022-2026". The report on the monitoring and evaluation of the work done in the first half of 2024 under the goals of "High and Fair Social Security" (National Priority "A Society Based on Dynamic, Inclusive, and Social Justice") was discussed.

Anar Aliyev, the chairman of the working group, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, stated that measures and social programs aimed at these goals have been expanded year by year, and significant steps have been taken in this direction again this year. The achievements of the social reforms were highlighted.

Ayaz Museyibov, Deputy Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication, provided information on the measures implemented in the first half of the year, as well as the completed or ongoing work within the framework of the 2024 Strategy goals. He emphasized the key challenges and offered recommendations.

Next, Elnur Alakbarov, the deputy chairman of the working group, Deputy Head of the Analysis division at the CAERC, presented a report on the work done across three areas of activity aimed at "Ensuring every citizen benefits from development". Based on the monitoring and evaluation of the objectives "Improving the Wage System", "Stimulating Employment Development in the Private Sector", and "Increasing Employment Efficiency", key findings and recommendations were presented. Following this, discussions were held on the action plan for the goal of "High and Fair Social Security and an Inclusive Society". The members of the Working Group also discussed the goals of "Creating Additional Opportunities for the Social Protection of Low-income and Poverty-sensitive Groups", "Ensuring the Financial Stability of the Pension System and Expanding State Pension Coverage", and "Improving the Provision of Sustainable Social Services to Socially Vulnerable Population Groups". Various proposals were voiced.

In addition to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population and the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication, the Working Group on "Inclusive Social Development and Social Security" includes representatives from the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Science and Education, the Ministry of Health, the "ABAD" public legal entity, the Central Bank, the State Committee on Family, Women, and Children’s Issues, the State Migration Service, the Youth Fund under the Ministry, and the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
