Webinar Held on “Modern Requirements to Export Food Products to European and North American Markets”
Within the “Private Sector Development” Project, One-Stop-Shop Export Support Center and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) organized a webinar titled “Modern Requirements to Export Food Products to European and North American Markets”.
During the discussion, Head of the CAERC’s Department Nijat Hajizadeh stressed the need for continuous awareness and enlightenment on international requirements for new export markets. According to his words, measures to ensure the healthy nutrition of consumers, as well as the expectation and compliance with quality requirements in foreign trade increase mutual trust and confidence between countries, which will lead to a quality advantage of local exporters in Western markets.
USAID Azerbaijan's Standardization and Certification Specialist Fuad Aghayev and International Trade Specialist Elshan Baloghlanov provided information on modern standards applied in the European and North American markets. They also provided detailed information on the requirements in the field of food safety, plant protection, and quality control in the European and North American markets, and discussed the application of the required rules. In particular, the advantages of HACCP and Global G.A.P standards, the organization of risk-based management in the field of food in European and North American markets and new requirements, expertise in the field of fruits and vegetables, laboratory samples, and other issues were brought to the attention of the participants.
The project aims to promote among entrepreneurs compliance with high-quality indicators of food production, to explain the concept of food safety, and to instill in them food safety habits.
