The Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC) launched a quarterly publication of the Turkish Economic Review. The "Turkic Economic Outlook" will be published four times a year in seven languages - Azerbaijani, English, Russian, Turkish, Uzbek, Kazakh and Kyrgyz. The first issue of the "Turkic Economic Outlook" demonstrates main macroeconomic indicators of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States - Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and Uzbekistan for the first quarter of 2022.

The publication consists of two sections. The first section provides an overview of the members of the Organization of Turkic States, their generalized indicators on area, population, GDP, trade turnover, and their share in the world. The comparison of GDP growth of Turkish countries is indicated, as well.

In the second section, the main macroeconomic indicators of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and Uzbekistan, which are members of the Organization of Turkic States, for January-March 2022 are described. These macroeconomic indicators are grouped under the headings of "Economic Growth", "Foreign Trade", "Finance" and "State Budget". Under the heading "Economic Growth" GDP, industrial products, agricultural products, under the heading "Foreign Trade", exports, imports, trade balance, under the heading "Finance" investments into fixed capital, banking sector assets and under the heading "State Budget" income and expenditures of the state budget are shown.

The statistical bulletin shows that the total area of the Turkic countries is 4,244,000 km2, with a population of 155.1 million people, a GDP of $ 1,001.4 billion and a trade turnover of $ 536.08 billion. This means that the member states of the Organization of Turkic States have a share of 0.8 percent of the world's territory, 2.0 percent of the population, 1.2 percent of GDP and 2.5 percent of trade turnover.

Compared to the same period last year, in the first quarter of 2022, the Turkish economy grew by 7.3 percent, the Azerbaijani economy by 6.8 percent, the Uzbek economy by 5.8 percent, the Kyrgyz economy by 4.5 percent and the Kazakh economy by 4.4 percent.
