The working group on "Macroeconomic Stability" discussed the first half of 2024
The next meeting of the "Macroeconomic Stability" working group, established by the relevant Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers, was held to ensure the full, timely, and effective implementation of the measures outlined in the "Socio-economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022-2026" and to coordinate the activities of the relevant state bodies. During the meeting, discussions were held on the monitoring and evaluation of the work completed in the first half of the year, within the framework of the Strategy's goals for 2024.
Rashad Orujov, the chairman of the working group, First Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank provided information on the measures implemented by the Central Bank in line with the Strategy.
Ayaz Museyibov, Deputy Chairman of the working group and Deputy Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), presented the monitoring and evaluation results of the 15 measures approved in the first half of 2024 under the report's three action areas for "Resilience to Internal and External Influences." He outlined the challenges and recommendations identified in the course of implementing the measures and proposed actions to accelerate progress in the next half-year.
Members of the working group engaged in discussions to further enhance the effectiveness of joint activities, and next steps were outlined.
In addition to the Central Bank and CAERC, the "Macroeconomic Stability" Working Group includes representatives from the Ministries of Finance, Economy, Justice, Labor and Social Protection of the Population, as well as heads of relevant departments from the State Oil Fund, Mortgage and Credit Guarantee Fund, Deposit Insurance Fund, and Agrarian Insurance Fund.
