Jamestown Foundation Wrote about Geo-economic Development Strategies of Azerbaijan on the Example of Alat FEZ

The Eurasian Daily Monitor magazine of the influential US Jamestown Foundation has published an analytical article entitled “The Alat Port Free Economic Zone’s Role in Azerbaijan’s Long-Term Geo-Economic Strategy” by Ayaz Museyibov, head of the Strategic Planning and Development Department of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication.

The article discusses that transport, logistics, and infrastructure projects implemented in Azerbaijan under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev serve common goals. It also analyzes the implementation of projects such as the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars and Astara-Astara railway in recent years, as well as the growing interest of the European Union in this field. At the same time, the article tells about the benefits of the creation of a new Zangezur Corridor against the background of the latest realities created after the 44-day war.

The author emphasized that Azerbaijan’s Alat FEZ was not only an economic infrastructure project but also an integral part of long-term geo-economic strategies. At the same time, he analyzed potential opportunities for rival projects.

It should be noted that the Jamestown Foundation is one of the influential strategic think tanks in the United States that publishes analytical views of high-ranking American diplomats and government officials.
