According to September issue of the Export Review, during first 8 months of 2021, the total export of Azerbaijan amounted to 13 billion US dollars with 1.6 billion US dollars in the non-oil sector. Non-oil export has increased by 429 million US dollars or 37.1% in comparison with the corresponding period of 2020. In the first 8 months of 2021, amounted to 364.7 million US dollars, fruit and vegetables had the main share in the non-oil export. During the mentioned period, the share of ferrous metals and products made from them in the non-oil export have increased by 1.5 times, cotton yarn – by 3.1 times, sugar – by 2.2 times, chemical industry products – by 68%, cotton fiber – by 88.5%, aluminum and products made from it – by  45%.

In January-August 2021, raw cotton (143.8 million US dollars) took first place among exported products of the non-oil sector. Gold (140.1 million US dollars) and tomatoes (128.2 million US dollars) shared second and third places.

In January-August 2021, the value of non-oil products exported to Russia amounted to 522.3 million US dollars, Turkey – 407.3 million US dollars, Switzerland – 154.9 million US dollars, Georgia – 109.5 million US dollars, and to the USA – 48 million US dollars.

In the period of normalization, the export in August amounted to 1.6 billion US dollars. With 95.3% increase, the volume of the non-oil export amounted to 230,4 million US dollars. During August 2021, food export has increased by 53.1% in comparison with the same month of 2020 and reached 38.3 million US dollars, and non-food exports has increased by 106.6% reaching 192.1 million US dollars.

In August of this year, Russia (54.4 million US dollars) topped the list of countries where the largest part of non-oil goods are exported. Turkey was second (48 million US dollars) and Switzerland was third (25.5 million US dollars).

In August 2021, other primary substances formed as a result of polymerization (27.8 million US dollars) took first place among exported products of the non-oil sector. Gold (23.4 million US dollars) and carbamide (11 million US dollars) shared second and third places.

The Export Review provided a rating of exporting governmental and non-governmental organizations, engaged in the non-oil export, for January-August 2021.

The top ten companies in the ranking of non-governmental exporters in January-August 2021 are the following: MKT Industrial Commerce LLC, Representation of Azerbaijan International Mining Company Limited in the Republic of Azerbaijan, Local Garden LLC, Baku Steel Company LLC, P-Agro LLC, Sun Food LLC, Azerbaijan Sugar Production Association LLC, Ram International Transportation and Trade LLC, Tayyar Hidayat Hidayatov, and Ilgar Sudgul Jafarov.

The list of state-owned companies involved in export operations in the non-oil sector is headed by the SOCAR Marketing and Economic Operations Department. Next on this list are SOCAR Polymer LLC, Azergold CJSC, Azeraluminium LLC, Azercotton Agricultural and Industrial Complex LLC, Azerenergy OJSC, Azerbaijan Aurlines CJSC, Azeripek LLC, Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, and State Energy Service of Nakhchivan AR.

In January-August 2021, Azercosmos OJSC exported services (satellite telecommunication and optical services) worth 30.8 million US dollars to 31 countries of the world. Profit earned from the export of services amounted to 91 percent of the total profit of Azercosmos OJSC. In August 2021, Azercosmos OJSC exported services worth 2.2 million US dollars to 22 countries of the world. 

Top five countries for submission of export orders to the portal during January-August 2021 were the USA (9.6 million US dollars), United Kingdom (6.4 million US dollars), France (3.7 million US dollars), Malaysia (3.7 million US dollars), and UAE (1.1 thousand US dollars).

According to the Export Review, the situation in connection with the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in Azerbaijan as in other countries has not passed without impact on the tourism sector. As a result, in August 2021, the total cost of operations made by foreign citizens through bank cards in our country amounted to 104.2 million manats. In general, in January-August 2021, this figure was 712.2 million manats.

Furthermore, the Export Review informs on export orders submitted to the. The total amount of export orders submitted to the Azexport.az portal in January-August amounted to 324.4 million US dollars. In August 2021, the volume of export orders received by the portal amounted to 40.8 million US dollars. In August 2021, the list of most ordered goods included cotton, dates, pomegranate, chicken eggs, hazelnut kernels, licorice root etc. From January 2017 to August 31, 2021 (for 56 months), the value of export orders received by the portal Azexport.az from 145 countries amounted to 2.54 billion US dollars.

At the same time, according to the Export Review, during September 2021, the total cost of the non-oil export implemented through the One-Stop-Shop Export Support Center was 16.7 million US dollars. From 2017 to October 2021, the total amount of goods and products exported through the One-Stop-Shop Export Support Center was 641.7 million US dollars.
