International Expert Training Held at CAERC

On November 25, the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication conducted a training session for representatives of government institutions on “Macroeconomic Stabilization and Economic Growth in Transition Economies.” The session was led by Ben Sley, a guest expert from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) at CAERC.

The training covered various paths of economic development observed in different countries, their theoretical foundations, lessons to be learned from these examples, and the challenges and advantages of economic development in transition economies. Approaches to economic growth over the short, medium, and long term were also discussed. Special attention was given to the development trajectories of resource-rich countries, the role of integration into the global value chain, and the quantitative criteria needed to measure macroeconomic stabilization.

Kamil Alasgarov, Consulting and Training Coordinator at CAERC, noted that similar trainings are planned in the future with broader scope and content. Currently, work is underway in Azerbaijan to select the most appropriate model for macroeconomic stabilization and economic growth, with various government agencies contributing at the highest level. The training aimed to equip participants with more knowledge, enabling them to support the selection of best comparative approaches for economic development.
