A discussion was held with the head of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in Azerbaijan
Prof. Dr. Vusal Gasimli, Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), met with Nasar Hayat, the Head of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Partnership and Coordination Office in Azerbaijan, and his deputy, Bariz Mehdiyev.
During the meeting, V. Gasimli provided an overview of the Center's activities. He highlighted that the Center monitors and evaluates several key strategies and state programs, including the "Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022-2026," the "First State Program on the Great Return to the Territories Freed from Occupation of the Republic of Azerbaijan," the "State Program on Ensuring Food Security in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2025," and the "National Strategy for Efficient Use of Water Resources." V. Gasimli also presented the "Project Management" module, emphasizing that the monitoring and evaluation portals incorporate information on electronic reporting and geographic classification.
Nasar Hayat provided insights into the projects undertaken by FAO's Partnership and Coordination Office in Azerbaijan in recent years. He expressed a desire to deepen cooperation with IITKM, noting that IITKM’s achievements in monitoring and evaluating strategies and state programs are of particular interest to FAO. He also emphasized the importance of knowledge exchange in this area.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed to collaborate on joint activities aimed at enhancing knowledge exchange and strengthening cooperation.
