Seminar on Key Export Procedures Held
A seminar titled “Key Export Procedures and Incentives Applied During Export” was held at the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), jointly organized by the “One-Stop Shop” Export Support Center and the Consumer Goods Expertise Center LLC under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
During the seminar, experts from the Consumer Goods Expertise Center LLC provided Azerbaijani entrepreneurs with detailed information on certificates of origin required for exporting products to foreign markets, application forms, necessary documentation, expertise procedures, and applicable incentives. Questions of interest to entrepreneurs were also addressed.
The manager of the “One-Stop Shop” Export Support Center, Nicat Hajizade, noted that the seminar had an educational purpose. He emphasized that the Center’s main objective is to inform entrepreneurs across various areas. According to him, exporters gained updated knowledge on required documents, expertise procedures, methods for determining a product’s country of origin, and export incentives. The primary goal of the seminar was to enhance the competitiveness of Azerbaijani goods and products in foreign markets.
The Director of the Consumer Goods Expertise Center LLC, Fazil Mammadov, expressed gratitude to the “One-Stop Shop” Export Support Center for its support in organizing the seminar and highlighted the importance of regular awareness-raising activities for entrepreneurs.
Such events aim to inform entrepreneurs about systemic reforms, comprehensive measures, and innovations in expertise services implemented by the state to simplify export procedures, as well as to discuss these changes directly with business representatives.
As part of exporter support measures, the fee for expertise services related to determining the country of origin of goods has been reduced by 30% for non-oil exports. The number of required documents has been reduced from 9 to 5 for legal entities and from 5 to 4 for individuals.
Based on international practice, while the issuance of origin documents globally takes at least three days, in Azerbaijan this procedure is completed within one day.
To identify challenges faced by business entities, ensure prompt resolution of exporters’ difficulties, and enhance transparency, “Open Door” days are organized monthly at the Expertise Center and its regional branches.
One of the key messages conveyed to entrepreneurs is the importance of meeting international requirements in order to export products under the “Made in Azerbaijan” brand. Taking origin rules into account in advance when planning investment projects enables entrepreneurs to benefit from export incentives. The Expertise Center stated its readiness to provide full support in this area.
Around 40 entrepreneurs participated in the seminar held at CAERC. The event concluded with a Q&A session and an exchange of views on the topic.
