Vusal Gasimli Has Been Appointed UNESCAP Coordinator
Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication Vusal Gasimli has been appointed local coordinator of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP) for Azerbaijan. The Commission, with the CAERC and State Customs Committee as the local coordinator for Azerbaijan, is the largest regional intergovernmental platform that has 53 Member States and 9 associate members.
The main function of ESCAP is to ensure the inclusive and sustainable development of Asia and the Pacific, as well as to strengthen economic and social cooperation between the countries of the region, increase digitalization and facilitate cross-border operations. Currently, the Commission is implementing the “Assessment of Readiness of Azerbaijan for Cross-Border Paperless Trade” Project. The Digital Trade Hub (DTH), which is operated by the CAERC, is actively participating in implementing the project in terms of ensuring digitalization of cross-border operations and improving the relevant infrastructure.
