Vusal Gasimli, Executive director of CAERC: “Azerbaijan Holds Leading Positions in Paperless Trade in the UNESCAP Assessment”

The State Customs Committee, the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC) and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) will hold consultations on "Implementation of cross-border paperless trade". The information was provided by the National Coordinator of UNESCAP Vusal Gasimli, who mentioned that Azerbaijan was one of the first countries in Asia and the Pacific to join the Framework Agreement on Facilitation of Cross-border Paperless Trade. He said: “Within this framework, the legal and technical preparations for implementing cross-border paperless trade in Azerbaijan will be discussed. These consultations will be conducted in accordance with the UN “Transport and trade connectivity in the age of pandemics” Project. Representatives of all relevant government agencies for cross-border trade and UNESCAP will take part in the consultations. The main purpose is to discuss the assessment on paperless trade and recommendations, as well as initial action plan. Also, I want to note that in previous UNESAP assessments Azerbaijan was among leading countries in Asia and Pacific region for cross-border paperless trade”.
