Non-oil Export Has Increased by 37.1%
According to the September issue of the Export Review, during the first 8 months of 2021, the total export of Azerbaijan amounted to 13 billion US dollars with 1.6 billion US dollars in the non-oil sector. Non-oil export has increased by 429 million US dollars or 37.1% in comparison with the corresponding period of 2020. In the first 8 months of 2021, amounted to 364.7 million US dollars, fruit and vegetables had the main share in the non-oil export. During the mentioned period, the share of ferrous metals and products made from them in the non-oil export has increased by 1.5 times, cotton yarn – by 3.1 times, sugar – by 2.2 times, chemical industry products – by 68%, cotton fiber – by 88.5%, aluminum and products made from it – by 45%.
In the period of normalization, the export in August amounted to 1.6 billion US dollars. With a 95.3% increase, the volume of the non-oil export amounted to 230,4 million US dollars. During August 2021, food export has increased by 53.1% in comparison with the same month of 2020 and reached 38.3 million US dollars, and non-food exports have increased by 106.6% reaching 192.1 million US dollars.
