The head of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Organization visited CAERC
A meeting was held with representatives of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Institute (CI) of the Asian Development Bank (AIB) at the Center for Analysis and Communication of Economic Reforms (CAERC).
At the meeting, Director of CAREC Institute Mr. Syed Shakeel Shah and Chief Economist Mr. Hans Holzhaker, who were visiting Azerbaijan in connection with the "6th CAREC Think Tank Development Forum" held in Baku, informed about the activities of the institution and the projects implemented in the Central Asian region.
Executive Director of CAERC Prof. Dr. Vusal Qasimli, briefed quests about economic reforms carried out in the country, "Azerbaijan-2030: National Priorities for socio-economic development", "Socio-Economic Development Strategy for 2022-2026" as well as activities of CAERC in the field of monitoring and evaluation of programs and other flagship projects.
He noted that Azerbaijan, being a leading country in the direction of increasing regional cooperation, trade and cargo transportation between Central Asia and Europe, continued to invest in the creation of regional infrastructure and logistics centers. CAERC, being both as a “Think and Do Tank” and an institution that facilitates the implementation process of strategies, carries out the communication of the country's development and reform agenda and coordination with development partners.
CAERC experts delivered presentations about digital portals such as https://monitoring.az/, https://azranking.az/, https://azexport.az/, https://enterpriseazerbaijan.gov.az/, https://enterpriseazerbaijan.gov.az/, and //dth.az/ of which CAERC is the operator as well as economic models applied for macro-economic analysis.
Director of CAREC Institute, Mr. Syed Shakeel Shah, appreciated that the activities of CAERC in the field of strategic management, monitoring and evaluation of development strategies and services provided through digital trade portals and mentioned necessity to the share the gained experiences with other member countries of CAREC. He noted the importance of cooperation with CAERC with our think tanks of CAREC region under the “Knowledge Exchange Program” of CI and organizing joint forums for this purpose
At the end, the guests was presented “One-Stop Shop”- the Export Support Center operating in the Center.
