Conference Held on the Topic “Lotfi Zadeh's Contributions to the Development of the World Economy and Science”

The Center for Analysis of Economic Reform and Communication together with ADA University held a conference titled "Lotfi Zadeh's Contributions to the Development of the World Economy and Science" and dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of prominent scientists Lotfi Zadeh. During the conference, there were discussions and speeches on the contribution of the outstanding scientist's theories to the development of industry, technological progress, and world science and economy in general.

Representatives of public, private, civil society institutions, and academic circles participated at the online conference. Executive Director of the CAERC, Doctor of Economics Vusal Gasimli opened the conference speaking about the potential opportunities of Lotfi Zadeh's legacy in the development of the economy, the prospects for economic growth in accordance with Lotfi Zadeh's theories. Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) Orkhan Mammadov delivered a welcoming speech and spoke about "The role of Lotfi Zadeh's legacy in building a modern industry, sustainable economy and innovative society" and informed about the development trends of SMEs in the country. Professor Rafig Aliyev, President of the Lotfi Zadeh Heritage and Artificial Intelligence Association, gave a detailed explanation of Lotfi Zadeh's theory of Z numbers and the book "Fuzzy Models in Economics". Afterward, Doctor of Economics Gorkhmaz Imanov spoke about the role of the great scientist in the development of the fuzzy economy. Chairman of the Azerbaijan-Japan Friendship Center Khalil Kalantar, Dean of the Faculty of IT and Engineering of ADA University Araz Yusubov, Head of the Department of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan Nijat Mammadli made speeches on Lotfi Zadeh's role in science, electronics, and ICT.

For his unprecedented achievements in the development of science and technology, as well as the establishment of intercultural dialogue, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev awarded Lotfi Zadeh with the Order of Dostlug (Friendship) - one of the highest awards of the country. Also, upon the order of the President, it was instructed to develop and implement an action plan to celebrate the 100th anniversary of prominent scientist Lotfi Zadeh.

Lotfi Zadeh was a historical figure. The theories of the world-famous scientist led the way to significant changes in the history of science. Always stating that he was proud to be an Azerbaijani, the scientist contributed to the development of science at the modern stage by bringing new approaches to science with his theories. Lotfi Zadeh was one of the most-cited scientists in the world. His achievements led to the establishment of many scientific schools and laboratories. As one of the prominent scientists of Azerbaijan and the world Lotfi Zadeh dedicated his life to the development of science and proposed several fundamental scientific theories to world science. The main and most widespread among these theories was the theory of fuzzy logic.
