A meeting of the "Human capital and education" Working Group was held
The next meeting of the "Human Capital and Education" Working Group on monitoring and evaluating the first half of 2024 was held at the Ministry of Science and Education, focusing on the goals outlined in the "2022-2026 Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan."
Kanan Karimzade, Head of the Working Group, Deputy Minister of Science and Education, opened the meeting by welcoming participants and providing an overview of the achievements to date, as well as a semi-annual report on the measures outlined in the Strategy.
Following this, Ayaz Museyibov, Deputy Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication, highlighted the successful implementation of many activities by the executive agencies and stressed the importance of monitoring the status of remaining measures by the end of the reporting year.
Presentations were made by Turkhan Suleyman, Head of the Science and Higher Education Policy Department of the Ministry of Science and Education, Eshqi Bagirov, Director of the State Agency for Preschool and General Education, and Simnar Mamedov, Deputy Director of the State Agency for Vocational Education. They addressed topics such as expanding the scope of preschool education, educator certification, public-private partnerships, upgrading educational infrastructure, vocational education admissions, developing new vocational education programs, short-term professional training, enhancing accessibility and inclusivity in higher education, improving quality, and implementing international programs.
Subsequently, Gunay Guliyeva, Deputy Head of the Working Group and Head of the Economic analysis division at the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication, presented a report on educational objectives in alignment with 21st-century requirements. She provided updates on progress, challenges, recommendations, and plans for achieving the target indicators.
After the presentation, discussions took place among the members of the Working Group. Opinions and suggestions were shared, recommendations were made to further enhance the implementation process, and the next steps were outlined.
It is important to note that the "Human Capital and Education" Working Group, led by the Ministry of Science and Education, was established by the Order of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan to ensure the full, timely, and effective implementation of the measures set out in the "2022-2026 Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan" and to coordinate the activities of relevant state bodies.
