Ramil Huseyn, Deputy Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), delivered a speech at the “Climate Change Adaptation” training for senior officials of local executive authorities. The training was held at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

During the event, dedicated to the “Year of Solidarity for a Green World,” Ramil Huseyn presented on the topic of “Climate Change Adaptation Strategies.” He informed participants that the fifth priority of the “Azerbaijan 2030: National Priorities for Socio-Economic Development” is titled “A Country of Clean Environment and Green Growth,” highlighting the nation's focus on addressing climate change.

R.Huseyn emphasized that the “Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022–2026,” adopted in alignment with national priorities, outlines measures aimed at combating climate change, promoting the efficient use of natural resources, and protecting biodiversity. He also noted the inclusion of initiatives such as the development of the "State Program on Low-Carbon Development" and the "National Adaptation Plan for Sectors More Sensitive to the Impacts of Climate Change."

Additionally, Huseyn provided insights into the effects of climate change on various sectors of the economy and shared specific examples of adaptation efforts in the agricultural sector.

The training, led by Academician Urkhan Alakbarov, Rector of the Academy of Public Administration, featured an exchange of views on national initiatives implemented within the framework of the "Year of Solidarity for a Green World." Discussions also centered on the role of transitioning to green energy and promoting energy efficiency as part of the broader effort to combat climate change.
