Azerbaijan Is a Leader in the Region for Readiness for Cross-Border Paperless Trade

This was informed by the Executive Director of the CAERC, National Coordinator for Azerbaijan of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) Vusal Gasimli.

The results of this year’s survey of UNESCAP "Readiness assessment for cross-border paperless trade" Project have been announced. V.Gasimli told that Azerbaijan demonstrated an increase of 5% in comparison with 2019 and with a total of 86.02%, and ranked first both among neighboring countries (Russia - 84.95, Georgia - 82.8, Iran - 77.42, Armenia - 62.37, Turkey 86.02) and within the CIS.

It should be noted that average world ratio is 64.95% and average ratio in developed countries – 81.86%.  

The following are the results by sub-indicators, assessed by UN international experts:

  • Transparency - 100%;
  • Official rules - 91,67%;
  • Institutional regulation and cooperation - 88,89%;
  • Paperless trade - 85.19%;
  • Cross-border paperless trade - 66,67%

If compared with 2019, this year the transparency indicator has increased by 6.67%, and the cross-border paperless trade indicator - by 16.67%.

In general, the dynamics of results of Azerbaijan from 2015 up today demonstrate that the growth rate has been stable.
