The Article Written by Azerbaijani Scientists Was Published in Influential Foreign Magazine
The article titled “The Real Equilibrium Exchange Rate in a Commodity-Exporting Economy: the Experience of Azerbaijan” and prepared by Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication Vusal Gasimli and Head of the Project Department of the Center Vusala Jafarova was published in international “Science, Technologies, Innovations” magazine. The article covers such issues as real equilibrium exchange rate in oil-rich economies and adequacy of monetary policy in the example of Azerbaijan. By assessing the real equilibrium exchange rate using a regression-based model, the authors analyze Azerbaijan's foreign trade balance and exchange rate deviations. Thus, applying a methodological approach that is based on scientific principles to analyze real equilibrium exchange rates, the authors presented calculations on the valuation of the national currency of Azerbaijan a few years after the devaluation.
