Internet Connectivity and Infrastructure Reforms in Azerbaijan
This review outlines Azerbaijan's significant advancements in internet connectivity and infrastructure reforms, driven by key state programs and large-scale projects. The expansion of broadband services has provided high-speed internet to over 70% of households, with advancements in GPON technology improving service quality. Investments from 2021 to 2023 have doubled average internet speeds, reaching 35.2 Mbps, while the number of fixed broadband subscribers has surged, with a growing shift to fiber-optic lines. Additionally, nearly 100% coverage of 3G and 4G networks has been achieved. Ongoing efforts focus on extending connectivity to remote and liberated areas, further advancing the country’s digital transformation.
