Vusal Gasimli, Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reform and Communication (CAERC), has met with a delegation led by William Thompson, Head of the Eurasian Department of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). The meeting discussed the results of a study entitled "Promotion of the digitalization of companies in Azerbaijan" prepared with the support of the OECD and the participation of the OECD in the policy followed in this area in the country.

During the meeting, Vusal Gasimli provided detailed information on the digital services provided through the portal http://enterpriseazerbaijan.gov.az/, operated by CAERC, and the work carried out to guarantee the access of SMEs to external markets and integration into digital networks.  At the same time, he pointed out the importance of the activities carried out by the International Business Environment and Qualifications Commission, the public-private partnership platform, the commission's portal https://azranking.az/ to improve the business environment in the country. Cooperation issues between the Business Environment and International Ratings Commission and the OECD were discussed. In the field of SME rating, which is periodically evaluated by the OECD, the possibilities of exploiting the potential of SMEs were discussed. V. Gasimli has also highlighted the benefits of Azerbaijan's participation in relevant OECD committees.

William Thompson, the head of the OECD Eurasia Department, has spoken about the evaluation methodology that will be applied to the rating of the Small Business Law in Azerbaijan, as well as the evaluation of the OECD Product Market Indicator (PMI). He said that the OECD was interested in cooperating in Azerbaijan on tax reform, implementation of corporate governance standards and control package to privatize state-owned enterprises and improve business environment. The parties exchanged views on future measures.
