
Vusal Gasimli received the Malaysian Ambassador to Azerbaijan
Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Vusal Gasimli received the Ambassador of Malaysia to Azerbaijan, Mr. Ahmad Kamrizami.
During the meeting, Vusal Gasimli provided detailed information on the management of state programs implemented in Azerbaijan, the medium-term expenditure framework, the Strategy for Socio-Economic Development for 2022-2026, and the work done on the implementation of the First State Program on the Great Return to the Liberated Territories. He made a comprehensive presentation on the activities of the Monitoring and Evaluation Institute established at CAERC, the process of transition from action-based to outcome-based evaluation, as well as evaluation processes implemented through digital platforms based on artificial intelligence technologies, data-based and working in real time. At the same time, he specifically noted Malaysia's support for Azerbaijan during the occupation of Karabakh, and brought to the attention of the guest the large-scale restoration and reconstruction work currently being carried out by the country's leadership in the liberated territories, as well as the measures and targets implemented for the return of former internally displaced persons.
V. Gasimli provided extensive information on the areas of activity of the digital platforms operated by the CAERC and the implementation of innovative projects, noting the mutual benefits of cooperation with relevant Malaysian institutions in this area.
At the meeting, Ambassador Ahmad Kamrizamil expressed his satisfaction with the scale of reconstruction work carried out in the liberated territories, especially during his visit to the cities of Shusha and Khankendi, and the successful implementation of the Great Return Program. He provided information on Malaysia's strategic development goals, the monitoring and evaluation system applied, and the activities of the PEMANDU (Performance Management and Delivery Unit) institution implementing this activity. The Ambassador also stressed the Embassy's interest in supporting the involvement of CAERC staff in knowledge exchange programs and trainings in the fields of monitoring and evaluation, economic analysis, artificial intelligence and data analytics within the framework of Malaysia's international cooperation program.
The meeting was attended by Vusala Jafarova, Head of the Turkic World Research Center of CAERC, Rashad Najafli, Senior Advisor of the Economic Analysis Department, Nurul Ain Mohammed Fadhil, Second Secretary of the Malaysian Embassy in Azerbaijan, and Nubar Baydarova, Assistant to the Ambassador.
