Vusal Gasimli spoke at the conference on "Contract of the Century" held in Imishli
Vusal Gasimli, executive director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), spoke at a conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in Imishli district, titled "The "Contract of the Century" is the beginning of the road to our historical victory." The conference was attended by Elchin Rzayev, head of the Imishli R&D, head of the department of SOCAR's "Oil and Gas Research Project" Institute, associate professor Khidir Ibrahimov, heads of law enforcement agencies of the region and public representatives.
Before the conference, flowers were arranged in front of the Great Leader's monument, and the dear memory of the outstanding statesman was commemorated with great respect.
The speakers said that as a result of the visionary policy of the National Leader, a great oil contract was signed on September 20, 1994 as the "Contract of the Century". This global project showed Azerbaijan's determination to own its natural resources as a sovereign state, defend its national interests, economic and strategic interests to the whole world, and became an important guarantee of state independence.
It was noted that in 2002, the foundation of the "Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan" oil pipeline was laid with the personal participation of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. It was emphasized that the "Contract of the Century" is the first masterpiece of the Great Leader, and the "Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan" oil pipeline is the second masterpiece.
