Discussion of the book” economy of Turkic states: challenges, successes and opportunities " was held
A meeting of the think tanks of Turkic states was held within the framework of the book project named "Turkic States Economy: Challenges, Prospects and Opportunities” prepared by the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC). Professor Dr. Vusal Gasimli, Executive Director of the CAERC, made an opening speech at the meeting: “These are indeed successes in a world passing through geopolitical and geo-economic turbulences. Together, the Turkic States have a greater capacity to contribute to regional stability. Organization of Turkic States account for a population of around 155 million, cover an area of over 4.5 million square kilometres (with Turkmenistan), and have a total GDP of more than 1 trillion USD, ranking the 13th as a whole in the world. Their untapped collective potential is too valuable to overlook.”
It should be noted that the book " Turkic States Economy: Challenges, Prospects and Opportunities” will consist of two parts. The general part will cover mutual economic, trade, investment relations and joint projects in the Turkic world. In this section, the current and potential cooperation opportunities of Turkic states will be investigated using econometric methods such as general equilibrium model, gravitational model, graph theory. The special section will analyze the economic and social development of each Turkish state within the period of 2010-2021, as well as its interaction with the Turkic world.
The meeting took place with the attendance of representatives of the Economic Research Institute of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Center for Economic Research and Reforms under the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan (CERR), Center for Black Sea and Central Asia (KORA) and Bursa Uludag University from of the Republic of Turkey and the Institute of Economics of ANAS. The group of co-authors of the book “Turkic States Economy: Challenges, Prospects and Opportunities" are academicians and researchers of the listed prestigious think tanks.
