The English version of the "Transport Review 2026" has been published
The English version of the "Transport Review 2026" publication, prepared by the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), has been presented to the public. The publication comprehensively presents the core indicators of Azerbaijan's transport sector, the dynamics of freight and passenger transportation across different modes of transport, development trends of transit freight shipments along major international transport corridors, as well as completed and scheduled infrastructure projects in the country.
The review features the transport sector's share in macroeconomic indicators, import and export statistics of transport services, and comparative indicators for the years 2024–2025 across road, rail, air, metro, maritime, and pipeline transport. Concurrently, data regarding revenues generated from the transport sector, as well as cargo and passenger turnover, are also reflected in the publication.
Conceptually authored by Professor Vusal Gasimli, Executive Director of CAERC and Doctor of Economic Sciences, the review also highlights the measures implemented toward improving the infrastructure security of individual transport modes. Particularly, it reflects the results of works executed within the framework of the "State Program for the Improvement of Transport Infrastructure in Baku City and Surrounding Territories for 2025–2030," alongside data on digitalization, micromobility, and tramway lines.
The "Transport Review" has been prepared to promote the outcomes and support the execution of measures scheduled under the "State Program for the Improvement of Transport Infrastructure in Baku City and Surrounding Territories for 2025–2030," approved by Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated January 30, 2025, and the "Action Plan for 2024–2026 on increasing the transit potential of international transport corridors passing through the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan and stimulating transit freight shipments," approved by Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated November 23, 2023.
The "Transport Review 2026" was prepared by Agil Asadov, Department Head at CAERC and Doctor of Economic Sciences, and Arzu Suleymanov, Sector Head and Doctor of Philosophy in Economics.
