Mammad Musayev: “Thanks to Azexport, Cottonseed Is Exported at Over 30% Higher Prices”
Within the first six months of its operation, the Azexport Portal received export orders totaling $192 million USD. Azexport played a significant role in increasing Azerbaijan’s non-oil exports by more than one-fifth during this period. Some products are even sold at higher prices than before their listing on Azexport.
Mammad Musayev, president of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of Azerbaijan, stated that the ongoing reform process in Azerbaijan is revolutionary and progressing rapidly:
“The creation of the electronic trade platform—the Azexport Portal—has provided substantial support to Azerbaijani exports. When we began cooperating with Azexport, the export price of cottonseed was approximately $1,300–1,350 USD. Thanks to Azexport, this price has now risen to $1,750 USD, and we expect this growth to continue. As a result, through the foreign buyers identified by Azexport, each ton of cottonseed is sold at $400–450 USD higher, or roughly one-third more, bringing millions of additional export dollars to the country.”
It should be added that the steps taken by Ilham Aliyev to increase non-oil exports, including the creation of the Azexport Portal, have further expanded the volume, variety, and geographic reach of Azerbaijan’s non-oil exports.
