December Issue of the Export Review Presented
According to December issue of the Export Review, during first 11 months of 2021, the total export of Azerbaijan amounted to 19.8 billion US dollars with 2.4 billion US dollars in the non-oil sector. Non-oil export has increased by 720.8 million US dollars or 44% in comparison with the corresponding period of 2020. During the first 11 months of 2021, fruit and vegetable products increased by 258.8 thousand US dollars, amounting to 549.9 million US dollars. During the mentioned period, the share of ferrous metals and products made from them in the non-oil export have increased by 2.3 times, cotton yarn – by 3.4 times, sugar – by 29.8%, chemical industry products – by 2.7 times, cotton fiber – by 70.2%, aluminum and aluminum products – by 69.3%.
In January-November 2021, raw cotton (187.7 million US dollars) took first place among exported products of the non-oil sector. Gold (184.7 million US dollars) and tomatoes (140.6 million US dollars) shared second and third places.
In January-November 2021, the value of non-oil products exported to Russia amounted to 763.8 million US dollars, Turkey – 586.1 million US dollars, Switzerland – 204.5 million US dollars, Georgia – 143.4 million US dollars, and to Brazil – 70.9 million US dollars.
In the period of normalization, the export in November amounted to 2.95 bln US dollars. With 58.7% increase, the volume of the non-oil export amounted to 307.2 million US dollars. During November 2021, food export has increased by 1.6% in comparison with the same month of 2020 and reached 98.9 million US dollars, and non-food exports has increased by 2.2 times, reaching 208.3 million US dollars.
In November of this year, Russia (98.4 million US dollars) topped the list of countries where the largest part of non-oil goods are exported. Turkey was second (77.7 million US dollars) and Brazil was third (23.1 million US dollars).
In November 2021, palm fruit (37 million US dollars) took first place among exported products of the non-oil sector. Raw cotton (27 million US dollars) and carbamide (23.6 million US dollars) shared second and third places.
The Export Review provided a rating of exporting governmental and non-governmental organizations, engaged in the non-oil export, for January-November 2021.
The top ten companies in the ranking of non-governmental exporters in January-August 2021 are the following: MKT Industrial Commerce LLC, Representation of Azerbaijan International Mining Company Limited in the Republic of Azerbaijan, Local Garden LLC, Baku Steel Company LLC, Sun Food LLC, P-Agro LLC, Tayyar Hidayat Hidayatov, Azerbaijan Sugar Production Association LLC, Ram International Transportation and Trade LLC, Chinar Agro LLC.
The list of state-owned companies involved in export operations in the non-oil sector is headed by the SOCAR Marketing and Economic Operations Department. Next on this list are SOCAR Polymer LLC, Azergold CJSC, Azeraluminium LLC, Azercotton Agricultural and Industrial Complex LLC, Azerenergy OJSC, Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC, Azeripek LLC, Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, and the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance PLE.
In January-November 2021, Azercosmos OJSC exported services (satellite telecommunication and optical services) worth 42.3 million US dollars to 41 countries of the world. Profit earned from the export of services amounted to 91 percent of the total profit of Azercosmos OJSC. In November 2021, Azercosmos OJSC exported services worth 3.3 million US dollars to 31 countries of the world.
Top five countries for the export of satellite telecommunication and optical services during January-November 2021 were the USA (10.4 million US dollars), France (10 million US dollars), United Kingdom (8.2 million US dollars), Malaysia (6.9 million US dollars), and UAE (1.7 million US dollars).
In November 2021, the total cost of operations made by foreign citizens through bank cards in our country amounted to 151.1 million manats. In general, in January-November 2021, this figure was 1.1 billion manats.
The total amount of export orders submitted to the Azexport.az portal in January-August amounted to 435.3 million US dollars. In November 2021, the volume of export orders received by the portal amounted to 36.6 million US dollars. In November 2021, the list of most ordered goods included cotton oil, leeches, hazelnut, gauze, tobacco, pomegranate, dates,engine oil, fruit juice and etc. From January 2017 to November 30, 2021 (for 59 months), the value of export orders received by the portal Azexport.az from 145 countries amounted to 2.66 billion US dollars.
At the same time, according to the Export Review, during December 2021, the total cost of the non-oil export implemented through the One-Stop-Shop Export Support Center was 20.4 million US dollars. The total amount of goods and products exported through the One-Stop-Shop Export Support Center for 2021 was 235.1 million US dollars, from 2017 to January 2022, the total figure was 708.4 million US dollars.
