Invited by Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, Associate Professor Ramil Huseyn the analyst of  the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication attended the Policy Seminar: Supporting SME Competitiveness Reforms in Venice, Italy in 10- 13 October 2016.

Within the frame of the seminar, the attendants were familiarized with the activities of VEGA Science and Technology Park close to wine-making cluster created in North East Region of Italy (within the territory of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene) and to Venice city. They received information from officials regarding the works performed in terms of development of small and medium enterprises in Italy.

The analyst of CAERC joined discussions conducted during the seminar and informed the attendants, of the reforms conducted in this area in the Republic of Azerbaijan. In the meeting with OECD representatives, he emphasized that production of consumer goods and other production on small and medium enterprise level were one of the primary directions of the Strategic Roadmap for national economy and main sectors of economy developed in Azerbaijan. He stressed that such a fact itself would serve for development of small and medium enterprises.  He also noted that the creation of single database for the goods produced in the Republic of Azerbaijan as per the Executive Order dated September 21, 2016 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan would create new opportunities for small and medium enterprises.

It was brought to the attention of the OECD representatives that there had started the process for creation of “ABAD” center that would implement socially- oriented projects to ensure support to active participation of citizens in socio – economic development of Azerbaijan, development of small and medium enterprises, increase in the employment level of people and establishment of competitive family households.
