The Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC) hosted a meeting between its Executive Director, Vüsal Qasımlı, and distinguished scholars from Russia and Georgia. During the meeting, Mr. Qasımlı spoke about the development of a new economic model in Azerbaijan, with a particular focus on the implementation of the Strategic Roadmaps.

He emphasized that Azerbaijan has begun applying a strategic management mechanism: “The country not only possesses a well-developed strategic document, but its monitoring and evaluation are conducted transparently and accountably, which motivates responsible institutions. The results of reforms are discussed with the public and international organizations. Even as the impact of the oil factor decreases, Azerbaijan’s progress in global rankings directly reflects the outcomes of these reforms.”

Professor Georgi Borisoviç Kleyner, a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, noted that Azerbaijan’s reform experience is worthy of study. He compared economic reforms in Russia and Azerbaijan and highlighted the importance of scientific collaboration between academic communities.

Vladimir Papava, a full member of the Georgian Academy of Sciences, observed that the systematic nature of Azerbaijan’s economic reforms has been further enhanced through the development of strategic roadmaps. He also shared insights on strategic planning and management in Georgia.

The meeting concluded with Vüsal Qasımlı answering the guests’ questions regarding Azerbaijan’s ongoing economic reforms, providing further clarity on the country’s reform achievements and strategies.
