The VI International Agroforum is being held in Tartu, Estonia. Azerbaijan was represented at the event by Namig Shalbuzov, PhD in Economics and Manager of Project Monitoring and Evaluation at the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC). The forum featured discussions on “The Digital Future of Global Agriculture.” Its main goal is to bring together leaders from Baltic countries, members of the Eurasian Customs Union, and countries participating in the Eastern Partnership program to discuss the strategic development of agriculture at political and administrative levels.

During the discussions, Namig Shalbuzov provided detailed information on the establishment of the “Electronic Agriculture” information system in Azerbaijan and the issuance of relevant certificates to agricultural exporters through the Digital Trade Hub. The progress Azerbaijan has achieved in digitizing its agricultural sector in recent years attracted significant interest from forum participants.

The conference was attended by Estonia’s Minister of Agriculture Tammo Tam, Germany’s Minister of Agriculture Bernhard Polten, Ukraine’s Minister of Agrarian Policy Olga Trofimtseva, and Moldova’s Minister of Agriculture, Regional Development, and Environment Vasile Luca. Participants discussed topics such as the digitalization of agricultural production and the digital transformation of agriculture in Europe during plenary sessions and roundtable discussions.
