Aygun Ahmadova, Acting Head of the Digital Trade Hub of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), took part in the “International Seminar on the Development of Artificial Intelligence for Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Member States” held in China.

The two‑week training program covered the historical development of artificial intelligence (AI), international trends, the application of AI technologies in China, state policy priorities in this field, and the integration of these technologies into industrial processes. The program included presentations, practical sessions, and site visits.

As part of the training, Aygun Ahmadova visited China’s high‑tech zone, known as the “Silicon Valley of China” — the territory of the Zhongguancun Digital and Artificial Intelligence Industry Alliance — where she became acquainted with the operations of leading technology companies such as Fuyao Innovation Center, Huawei, Lenovo, and Baidu. In addition, during a visit to the Institute of Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, she received first‑hand information on the organization of scientific research processes, large‑scale scientific facilities such as the high‑energy synchrotron radiation source, the extreme conditions laboratory, and multimodal biomedical imaging systems.

Within the framework of the program’s key site visits, research activities, knowledge transfer mechanisms, and examples of industry collaboration in the field of artificial intelligence and high technologies carried out by leading academic institutions such as Peking University and Tsinghua University were presented. Furthermore, the “Beijing Smart City Healthcare Services Center” showcased practical AI‑driven solutions for the early detection of chronic diseases, household‑level health management, and remote diagnostics.

During the sessions, Aygun Ahmadova delivered a presentation on Azerbaijan’s digital landscape, relevant legislative and regulatory acts adopted over the past decade, implemented projects, and the main objectives for the near term as outlined in the “Artificial Intelligence Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2025–2028.”
