Heydar Aliyev Commemorated at CAERC
A commemorative event dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the birth of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev was held at the Center for Analysis and Communication of Economic Reforms (CAERC).
It was noted that the efforts undertaken by Heydar Aliyev during the Soviet period to strengthen Azerbaijani statehood and reinforce the economy later played a crucial role in the establishment of the independent Azerbaijani state. His rise to the highest levels of political leadership within the Soviet Union stands as a vivid example in Azerbaijan’s political history. The National Leader’s return to power in Azerbaijan at the persistent demand of the people saved the country from crisis and the threat of fragmentation. As the founder of independent Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev restored statehood by ensuring socio-political stability.
Heydar Aliyev’s land reform and privatization policies became the cornerstone of economic reforms. It was emphasized that the National Leader stated: “We must boldly follow the path of a market economy.” The foundations of the oil strategy were laid and successfully implemented, while efforts were initiated to diversify the economy, reduce poverty, restore infrastructure, and strengthen the armed forces. Heydar Aliyev consistently paid special attention to the development of culture, literature, science, and education.
During the discussions, it was highlighted that Ilham Aliyev is successfully continuing the course set by the National Leader. As part of the event, a video tribute dedicated to Heydar Aliyev was screened.
