Employees of the "Enterprise Azerbaijan" portal met with a professor from Stanford University

The Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC) employees met with Dr. Murat Baday, an entrepreneur and Academician from Stanford University, USA. The meeting discussed international cooperation opportunities in scientific and technological innovations, artificial intelligence, digital economy and startup ecosystem.

During the discussion, Isa Gasimov, head of the “Enterprise Azerbaijan” portal, which is operated by the Center, provided detailed information about the “Green and Digital Silk Road” International Acceleration Program implemented within the framework of the “Startup School 3” project. He noted that the main goal of the program is to support startups operating in the field of green technologies and digital innovations, prepare them for access to global markets and strengthen regional cooperation.

During his speech, Stanford University Professor Murat Baday shared his experiences in innovation and technology policies, commercialization of scientific research, as well as the application of artificial intelligence in the United States and other developed countries. He highly appreciated the steps taken in this direction in Azerbaijan and emphasized the importance of expanding opportunities for scientific and technological cooperation. The professor also noted the importance of conducting intensive training programs, bootcamps, idea and innovation competitions for the development of startups. He said that such initiatives are very important in terms of revealing the potential of young entrepreneurs and preparing them for international innovation platforms.

Aygun Ahmadova, the head of the Digital Trade Hub (DTH), which the center operates, provided information on the projects implemented in the field of digitalization in the country, the application of artificial intelligence and the existing opportunities in this direction, as well as the challenges ahead. She also spoke in detail about the main activities of the Digital Trade Hub, the promotion of digital technologies and the work done to expand international cooperation in this area.

The parties discussed cooperation opportunities in supporting scientific and technological innovations, the development of startups and their integration with global bases. At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached on establishing cooperation, especially training and mentoring in the Acceleration program, evaluation of startups and attracting investment resources.
