Discussions of the working groups related to improving the business and investment environment in the country and further enhancing Azerbaijans position in international rankings were held at CAERC. During the discussions, the process of preparing proposals continued on creating a business environment that ensures optimal profitability of entrepreneurial activity and is based on competition principles, increasing the countrys investment attractiveness, improving legislation and administrative practices related to strengthening Azerbaijans position in international rankings, and implementing other necessary measures in this direction.

It was noted during the discussions that as a result of economic reforms carried out under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, new opportunities have been created to improve the business environment and further strengthen the countrys position in international rankings. Over the course of several days of meetings, views were exchanged on reform directions implemented in Azerbaijan, the main priorities of these reforms were discussed, and the action plan for the next period was reviewed.

In addition, to achieve progressive regulation and law enforcement practices, the importance of analyzing the state of the competitive environment in the country and forming a competitive framework that ensures the development of entrepreneurship and further enhances its competitiveness was emphasized. During the meetings held at CAERC, it was decided that the working groups would continue their activities on an ongoing basis.

It should be noted that the regulation on the Commission on the Business Environment and International Rankings was approved by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated August 27, 2018. The main tasks of the Commission are to prepare programs and projects aimed at improving the business environment and Azerbaijans position in international rankings, and to involve local and foreign experts in their development and implementation.
