Baghish Ahmadov
Advisor to the Executive director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication of Republic of Azerbaijan
He was born on September 19, 1972 in Jalilabad district, Azerbaijan.
Education
In 1989 - 1994, he received higher education at the Azerbaijan State Economic Institute.
In 1995 - 1997, he completed postgraduate studies at the Azerbaijan State Economic Institute.
In 2000, he defended his PhD degree in Economics.
In 2024, he defended his Doctor of Economic Sciences degree.
Scientific and pedagogical activity
In 2000 - 2014, he worked as a lecturer, senior lecturer and associate professor at the “Enterprise Economics” Department of the Azerbaijan State University of Economics.
In 2004 - 2009, he worked as a leading researcher, senior researcher and head of department at the Economic Reforms Scientific Research Institute under the Ministry of Economic Development of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
In 2010 - 2014, he worked as a researcher at the Institute of Economic Research under the Azerbaijan State University of Economics.
Since 2017, he has been working as an associate professor at the “Department of Economic and Technological Sciences” of the Azerbaijan State University of Economics.
In 2025 - 2026, he worked as an associate professor at the “Business Administration” Department of the Azerbaijan State University of Economics.
He is a member of the Expert Council on Economic Sciences of the Higher Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
He is the author of nearly 40 scientific articles and theses.
Labor activity
In 1998 - 2000, he worked as a senior laboratory assistant at the “Industrial Economics” Department of the Azerbaijan State Economic Institute.
In 2014 - 2019, he worked as deputy head of department and head of department at the Ministry of Agriculture.
In 2020 - 2025, he worked as Deputy Director of the Agrarian Research Center under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Since March 2026, he has been working as an Advisor to the Executive Director at the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication.
He is fluent in Azerbaijani, Russian and English languages.
He is married and has 2 children.
