"Startup School" Held in Khankendi
The "Startup School" project was organized in Karabakh – Khankendi through the collaboration of the "Enterprise Azerbaijan" and "Azexport" portals of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), along with the "Karabakh Training Center."
The primary objective of the project was to promote entrepreneurship and startup initiatives, as well as innovative and investment-oriented projects in the liberated territories, while simultaneously enhancing practical knowledge and skills in the fields of digital trade and project management.
The event was attended by faculty and students from Karabakh University and Baku Business University, entrepreneurs, and representatives of industrial park residents. Ayten Mammadova, Head of the "Karabakh Training Center"; Ibad Abbasov, Rector of Baku Business University; Alakbar Mammadov, Head of the Karabakh Territorial Main Tax Department; and Kenan Suleymanli, representative of the Karabakh Regional Employment Branch, delivered speeches emphasizing the importance of measures implemented toward the development of innovative entrepreneurship in the region.
During the speeches, detailed information was provided regarding tax incentives applied in the region, employment programs, existing digital platforms for startups and export-oriented entrepreneurs, opportunities for access to international markets, university-industry cooperation, and measures taken for human capital development.
Subsequently, trainings were conducted on the topics of "Innovative Entrepreneurship and Startup Activities" and "Digital Trade and Services of the Azexport Portal," presented by Isa Gasimov, Head of the "Enterprise Azerbaijan" portal; Ayxan Gadashov, Head of the "Azexport" portal; and Matanat Rasulova, Human Resources Manager.
In the second half of the day, startup project presentations were delivered and discussed. Recommendations were provided for project development, and mentoring services were offered.
Approximately 50 faculty members and students benefited from the training and mentoring services within the framework of the project. Certificates were presented to participants who successfully completed the program.
It should be noted that the "Startup School - Karabakh" project is aimed at fostering an innovative entrepreneurial environment in the region, supporting local initiatives, and ensuring sustainable economic development. Discussions regarding the continuation of the project are currently underway.
