Non-oil Export Has Increased by 30.5 Percent
According to August issue of the Export Review, during first 7 months of 2021, the total export of Azerbaijan amounted to 11.4 billion US dollars with 1.4 billion US dollars in the non-oil sector. Non-oil export has increased by 316.7 billion US dollars or 30.5% in comparison with the corresponding period of 2020. In the first 7 months of 2021, amounted to 338 million US dollars, fruit and vegetables had the main share in the non-oil export. During the mentioned period, the share of ferrous metals and products made from them in the non-oil export have increased by 2.4 times, cotton yarn – by 2.8 times, sugar – by 2.3 times, chemical industry products – by 37%, cotton fiber – by 88.5%, aluminum and products made from it – by 42%.
In the period of normalization, the export in July amounted to 2.6 billion US dollars. With 55.7% increase, the non-oil export was 192 million US dollars. During July 2021, food export has increased by 6% in comparison with the same month of 2020 and reached 43 million US dollars, and non-food exports has increased by 80.1% reaching 149 million US dollars.
