Discussion on Azerbaijan’s Electronic and Mobile Residency Held in Moscow
Nijat Asadli, manager of the Digital Trade Hub at the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), held a meeting at the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Moscow, Russia. During the meeting, Asadli provided detailed information on Azerbaijan’s Digital Trade Hub and the country’s first introduction of electronic and mobile residency.
It was noted that Azerbaijan and Russia are mutual trade partners, with trade and reciprocal investment being key areas of their bilateral relations. As a result, a positive growth trend has been observed in trade turnover between the two countries. Asadli emphasized that improving electronic residency services and providing comprehensive information to potential non-residents in Russia who may obtain mobile and electronic residency are essential. Accordingly, a unified strategy will be developed to ensure proper awareness among non-residents.
Officials at the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Russia also noted that Russia is Azerbaijan’s main partner in imports and ranks first in non-oil product exports. For this reason, both sides are interested in cooperation through Azerbaijan’s Digital Trade Hub.
Asadli stated that meetings in this direction will continue and that diplomatic missions and consulates will consistently provide detailed information to non-residents regarding electronic signatures and related services.
