January 2026 Issue of "Export Review" Published
The Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC) has presented the next issue of the "Export Review." According to the review, Azerbaijan's non-oil sector exports in January 2026 increased by 9% compared to the corresponding period in 2025, totaling 268.4 million USD. During this period, exports of food products grew by 22.6%, reaching 103 million USD.
In the first month of the current year, exports of sugar increased by 169.3%, cotton yarn by 137.6%, vegetable and animal fats and oils by 90.8%, aluminum and articles thereof by 39.5%, fruits and vegetables by 32.1%, cotton fiber by 23.2%, tea by 20.9%, and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages by 14.2% compared to the same period last year.
In January 2026, exports of agricultural products increased by 32.6% to 85.7 million USD, while exports of agro-industrial products amounted to 21.9 million USD. Overall, combined exports of agricultural and agro-industrial products rose by 23.8%, totaling 107.6 million USD.
In the list of non-oil goods exported during the reporting period, gold (33 million USD) ranked first. Shelled hazelnuts (29.3 million USD) ranked second, and fresh persimmons (22.3 million USD) ranked third.
In January 2026, non-oil goods worth 77 million USD were exported to the Russian Federation, 38.6 million USD to Switzerland, 31.6 million USD to Georgia, 31.5 million USD to Türkiye, and 15.2 million USD to Ukraine.
The following companies were represented in the top ten of the ranking of non-state exporting entities for January 2026: Representation of "Azerbaijan International Mining Company Limited" in the Republic of Azerbaijan, "AGRARCO" LLC, "Prime Cotton" LLC, "Baku Steel Company" CJSC, "Prime LM" LLC, "KHAN-EL" LLC, "Azerbaijan Sugar Production Association" LLC, "AFA Export" LLC, "P-AGRO" LLC, "Mors Trading" LLC.
"AzerGold" CJSC leads the list of state-owned companies involved in non-oil export operations. The following companies were subsequently represented in this list: "SOCAR Polymer" LLC, SOCAR Marketing and Economic Operations Department, "Azeraluminium" LLC, "Azerpambiq Agrarian Industrial Complex" LLC, "Nakhchivan Energy" Limited Liability Company, "Sanayecihaz" Scientific Production Association, "SOCAR CAPE" LLC, "Garadagh Glass Plant" OJSC, "Azerkhalcha" OJSC.
In January 2026, the Space Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (Azercosmos) exported satellite telecommunication services worth 1.5 million USD to 32 countries. Revenues from service exports accounted for 65% of Azercosmos's total income.
In the reporting period, the top five destinations for satellite telecommunication service exports were the United Kingdom with 348.5 thousand USD, Luxembourg with 283 thousand USD, Sweden with 187.2 thousand USD, Türkiye with 72.4 thousand USD, and Pakistan with 69.6 thousand USD.
