CAERC and the World Bank Launched Trainings on Monitoring and Evaluation
Trainings on Monitoring and Evaluation were launched at CAERC in cooperation with the World Bank. The training is being conducted by World Bank monitoring and evaluation experts from October 31 to November 2, 2018. Primarily organized for employees of state institutions, the training highlights existing challenges across different areas in line with the monitoring and evaluation system, identifies key priorities for future actions, and presents relevant recommendations.
Opening the training with introductory remarks, the Executive Director of CAERC, Vusal Gasimli, stated that cooperation with international organizations plays an important role in the institutional development of CAERC in the field of monitoring and evaluation. He emphasized that studying international experience is especially important for improving monitoring and evaluation methodologies.
Subsequently, the World Bank Country Manager for Azerbaijan, Navid Hasan Naqvi, delivered a speech. He noted that CAERC is an institution that successfully carries out monitoring and evaluation of strategic roadmaps, as well as digital payments, employment, and other state programs. He added that the World Bank is implementing projects aimed at studying and applying the experience of countries such as Turkiye, Korea, Malaysia, and others to support the institutional development of CAERC. According to him, the monitoring and evaluation institute of CAERC currently plays a significant role in further improving public administration.
It should be noted that, in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated December 6, 2016, on the approval of the main directions of the Strategic Roadmaps for the National Economy and Key Sectors of the Economy and matters arising therefrom, the implementation of monitoring, evaluation, and communication activities related to the actions envisaged in the strategic roadmaps was entrusted to CAERC. CAERC also carries out monitoring and evaluation of a number of other state programs.
