Representative of CAERC spoke at the “Global South Think Tanks Dialogue” in Shanghai
Rashad Najafli, Deputy Head of the Economic Analysis Department of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), participated as a speaker in the “Third Global South Think Tanks Dialogue” held in Shanghai, China. More than 350 participants from over 120 countries - including policymakers, scholars, heads of research institutes, and international experts - joined the event titled “Strength in Unity: The Responsibility and Actions of the Global South.”
Rashad Najafli gave a speech during the session called “Opening a New Page in Global Governance through Commitment to Core Principles and Reforms.” He emphasized the importance of the growing partnership between Azerbaijan and China, noting that the introduction of a visa-free regime between the two countries supports increased mobility, expands cultural and academic exchanges, and strengthens mutual trust.
The CAERC representative highlighted the importance of sharing innovations in governance among Global South countries. He stated that Azerbaijan is carrying out similar reforms by applying AI-based monitoring and evaluation systems, digital trade platforms, and data-driven coordination mechanisms. Speaking about global governance reforms, Rashad Najafli underlined the need for constructive multilateralism, inclusive development, and evidence-based policymaking in a rapidly changing world. He added that CAERC remains committed to data-driven governance, digital transformation, and international knowledge exchange in shaping sustainable and future-oriented policies.
During the event, it was officially announced that a permanent Secretariat of the “Global South Think Tanks Dialogue” will be established to support continuous cooperation and joint research among participating countries.
