Deputy Executive Director of CAERC delivers opening remarks at training in Lanzhou, China

Ramil Huseyn, Deputy Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), delivered the opening speech at a training program on Wind Energy Technologies organized by the Gansu Natural Energy Research Institute in Lanzhou, China.

The event brought together 28 participants from 7 countries. The training began with welcoming remarks from the Institute’s Director, Wei Jun, who emphasized the importance of China-Azerbaijan relations and the strengthening economic ties between the two nations. He then invited Mr. Huseyn to deliver his address.

In his speech, Ramil Huseyn highlighted the rapid development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and China, noting that the timing of this event coincided with the recent mutual visa exemption between the two countries—a factor that further reinforces their strategic partnership.

He emphasized Azerbaijan’s strong commitment to increasing the production of green energy, noting that a wide range of comprehensive measures are being implemented in this area. Mr. Huseyn also stressed that Azerbaijan is actively cooperating with global companies, including Chinese enterprises, in the development of solar and wind energy. He specifically pointed out that the majority of equipment for the newly constructed solar and wind power plants in the country is manufactured in and imported from China.

In conclusion, Mr. Huseyn underlined Azerbaijan’s strategic goal to increase the share of renewable energy in its installed power generation capacity to 30% by 2030. He expressed confidence that current progress clearly indicates the country is on track to successfully meet this target.
