Dr. Ramil Huseyn, Head of the Strategic Planning and Development Department at the CAERC, has published a monograph titled “Competitive Agricultural Production: Challenges of Globalization and Development Opportunities.”

The work provides a scientific analysis of the competitiveness of agricultural products in Azerbaijan, with a focus on crop production. It emphasizes that in the current era, ensuring sustainable agricultural development and improving product competitiveness are key economic priorities. In developing economies, agriculture contributes not only to national food security but also to employment and living standards in rural regions.

Dr. Huseyn notes that in the context of Azerbaijan’s economic diversification, the development of the agrarian sector and the increase of non-oil exports are becoming critical sources of growth. He highlights the need to expand competitive crop production, especially in sectors with high export potential. Significant progress has already been achieved through ongoing agrarian reforms, resulting in higher self-sufficiency in many food products and improved competitiveness in domestic and international markets. However, further development requires scientifically grounded proposals and careful consideration of the challenges posed by globalization.

The monograph aligns with the “Strategic Roadmap on Production and Processing of Agricultural Products”, approved by the President of Azerbaijan, which emphasizes increasing competitive agricultural and agro-industrial production for both domestic and foreign markets. Effective implementation of these priorities requires assessing existing potential and identifying ways to use it efficiently.
