The Country Partnership Strategy for 2024-2028 by the ADB was discussed at CAERC

Vusal Gasimli, the Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), held a meeting with Kiyoshi Taniguchi, the Chief Economist for the Central and Western Asia region of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The discussion focused on the preparation of ADB's Country Partnership Strategy for 2024-2028.

V. Gasimli provided detailed information about "Azerbaijan 2030: National Priorities for Socio-Economic Development," including the goals of the "Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2022-2026." He also discussed the monitoring and evaluation activities conducted by CAERC. He outlined the goals of the "I State Program on the Great Return to the territories freed from occupation of the Republic of Azerbaijan" and highlighted the extensive damage caused during the occupation, emphasizing the ongoing large-scale restoration and construction projects in the Karabakh and East Zangezur economic regions.

The meeting covered the methodology for monitoring and evaluating state programs and the electronic portals developed by CAERC to measure the implementation levels of program measures. The importance of applying modern technologies and artificial intelligence in the revitalization of Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur economic regions was emphasized, along with the role of international financial institutions in attracting investments in green energy and smart infrastructure.

V. Gasimli expressed CAERC's interest in implementing joint projects with ADB, particularly in the development of macro-economic research, analysis, and forecasting models, including the application of artificial intelligence in strategic management.

K. Taniguchi, ADB's Chief Economist for the Central and Western Asia Region, conveyed ADB's interest in accelerating regional connectivity, especially connecting rural areas to cities, supporting inclusive development, and increasing private sector economic activity in Azerbaijan. These aspects are considered key directions in the next Country Partnership Strategy. Additionally, he mentioned ADB's readiness to conduct joint research with CAERC on strategically important areas.
