The Next Meeting of the “Physical Infrastructure” Working Group Was Held

The next meeting of the “Physical Infrastructure” Working Group, led by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport under the Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings, was held.

The meeting was attended by representatives of state institutions and public organizations that are members of the working group.

Chaired by Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport and head of the working group, Cavid Gurbanov, the meeting discussed current issues related to the group’s activities.

During the meeting, information was provided about the National Business Development Forum, which was jointly organized by the “Caspian Energy Club” and the Azerbaijan National Business Association, with the support of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, on April 16 and April 29 of this year. It was noted that at this event, presentations were made for entrepreneurs by institutions represented in the “Physical Infrastructure” Working Group of the Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings, questions of entrepreneurs regarding transport and public utility services were answered, and discussions were held.

Head of the Secretariat of the Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings, Vusal Shikhaliyev, stated that the main mandate of the “Physical Infrastructure” Working Group, which is one of the 25 working groups under the Commission, is to provide proposals aimed at improving the country’s position in the infrastructure pillar of the Global Competitiveness Report and the Global Innovation Index Report, as well as to ensure the implementation of measures in this direction. He also noted that the infrastructure indicators cover various fields, emphasizing that the composition of the Working Group and the issues reflected in the current Action Plan are quite extensive.

Later, representatives of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, “Azerbaijan Railways” CJSC, “Azerbaijan Airlines” CJSC, as well as “Azerenerji” OJSC and “Azerishig” OJSC presented reports on the work carried out during the first nine months of 2025 within the framework of the measures for which they are responsible, and relevant issues were discussed.

In line with the discussions held, relevant decisions were made to address the upcoming tasks, and recommendations were given regarding the acceleration and optimization of the implementation process.

The “Physical Infrastructure” Working Group under the Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings is chaired by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.
