Working Group on "Environmental Issues" discusses 2025 outcomes

A meeting of the Working Group on "Environmental Issues" was held within the framework of the "Strategy for Socio-Economic Development of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022-2026." The session focused on the progress achieved during 2025 under the strategic objective of ensuring a "High-Quality Ecological Environment."

Opening the meeting at the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, Umayra Taghiyeva, Chair of the Working Group and Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, provided an overview of the activities completed throughout the year and outlined upcoming projects in alignment with the Strategy’s action plan.

Tarana Salifova, Deputy Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), updated participants on the measures implemented during the reporting period, as well as those currently in progress.

Following the opening remarks, Abdulrahim Dadashov, Deputy Head of the Monitoring and Evaluation Department at CAERC, presented the monitoring and evaluation report regarding the 2025 year-end results for the "High-Quality Ecological Environment" objective.

The presentation was followed by comprehensive discussions among Working Group members. Participants shared feedback and proposals, provided recommendations to enhance the efficiency of the implementation process, and defined the next steps for the upcoming period.

It should be noted that the Working Group on "Environmental Issues" comprises senior officials from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and CAERC, alongside the Ministries of Economy, Finance, Science and Education, Agriculture, Emergency Situations, Digital Development and Transport, and Energy. The group also includes representatives from the State Statistics Committee, the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President, the State Tourism Agency, the State Water Resources Agency, the Food Safety Agency, the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance, TABIB, the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, "Tamiz Shahar" OJSC, SOCAR, and AZAL.
