Memorandum of Understanding signed between Azexport and QazTrade
In order to strengthen cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan in the fields of trade and digital economy, the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC) of Azerbaijan, represented by its “Azexport.az” portal, and the “QazTrade” Center for Trade Policy Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The purpose of the document is to promote the development of trade and economic relations between the two countries, implement joint projects in the areas of e-commerce and digital economy, increase export potential, and ensure mutual access of Azerbaijani and Kazakhstani products to digital trade platforms.
Within the framework of the Memorandum, the parties agreed to cooperate in promoting trade, developing digital commerce, exchanging information on regulations and legal frameworks that support exports, and implementing joint initiatives.
Ainur Amirbekova, Director for Export Development at “QazTrade,” noted that the signed document will elevate cooperation between the two countries in the field of digital trade to a new level:
“The economies of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan have complementary structures. This cooperation opens up great opportunities for experience and knowledge exchange for both ‘QazTrade’ and ‘Azexport.’ Joint initiatives in the development of digital trade will enhance the competitiveness of businesses in the region and enable more flexible management of export processes.”
Ayxan Qədəşov, Head of the “Azexport.az” portal, emphasized the importance of this document in further expanding economic cooperation between the two countries in the digital domain:
“The Memorandum of Understanding signed with ‘QazTrade’ is based on the shared interests of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. Our goal is to facilitate entrepreneurs’ access to digital markets, promote the exchange of experience in new e-commerce models, and expand mutually beneficial cooperation between our countries. We believe this partnership will yield tangible results for both public institutions and business communities.”
Under the Memorandum, the parties plan to cooperate on the creation of joint digital exhibitions and trade platforms, organization of joint export promotion events, development of the startup ecosystem, as well as the implementation of training programs and seminars in the field of digital economy.
It should be noted that the “Azexport.az” portal is also among the partners of the “Eurasia Franchising Forum – Baku 2025.” Within the framework of the Forum, the Head of the portal, Ayxan Qədəşov, delivered a speech as a speaker, providing participants with information on e-commerce solutions, the operation of the digital exhibition hall, and regional cooperation opportunities.
