Azexport.az Portal Held a Roundtable Discussion on Global E-Commerce for Entrepreneurs
A roundtable titled "E-Commerce: Access to Global Markets" was held, organized by the Azexport portal — operated by the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC) — and dedicated to expanding local entrepreneurs' access to international electronic commerce platforms.
Opening the event with welcoming remarks, Aykhan Qadashov, Head of the Azexport.az portal, noted that interest in e-commerce across the country is steadily growing and that regional statistics reflect the sector's rapid development. He highlighted that bringing local products to international markets through global e-commerce platforms creates significant opportunities for entrepreneurs and plays an important role in increasing export potential.
Gunel Aghazade, Chief Executive Officer of Navishopper, delivered a presentation in which she shared her experience with participants on organizing sales, managing stores, and implementing effective sales strategies on global platforms such as Amazon, eBay, Etsy, and Alibaba.com.
The event, held in a hybrid format, featured product analyses conducted on the global e-commerce market with the support of technical specialists joining online from Brazil and Europe, alongside practical case studies. It was noted that successful examples of Azerbaijani products being sold on Amazon and other international e-commerce platforms already exist, and that the country holds strong potential to scale these results across a wider range of product categories.
Held in partnership with MeetUp Networking Club, the event also featured presentations by local specialists active in logistics, digital marketing, and e-commerce, who shared their professional experiences. The event drew approximately 40 entrepreneurs; questions were answered and practical recommendations were offered for achieving success in international online trade.
The event proceeded in an interactive format, concluding with an exchange of views based on real business cases, and in-depth discussions on the challenges participants face in international online sales and the ways to overcome them.
